Luc Mees, a Belgian, was for over 40 years a
member of the Scheut Missionaries (CICM). After his ordination he studied
theology at the Facultés Catholiques de Lyon (France) and missiology at
the Katholieke Universiteit Nijmegen (The Netherlands). He served for 22
years in Guatemala as a missionary among the Q’eqchi-Maya Indians, CICM
Provincial Superior, formator, and professor of phenomenology of religion
at the Universidad Rafael Landivar and the Instituto Centroamericano de
Ciencias Religiosas (La Salle) in Guatemala City. From 1993 to 1999 he was
Vicar General of CICM in Rome. In 2002 he became a member of the newly
founded Missionaries of Jesus (MJ) in the Philippines. He has been
professor of missiology and comparative religion at Maryhill School of
Theology and lectures also at the Institute of Formation and Religious
Studies in Quezon City. He joined the EAPI faculty in 2003.
